Hotmail is one of the most popular email services available, rivaling Google’s Gmail for popularity. How do you transfer contacts amongst Hotmail and Gmail?
Users have a big decision to make when deciding which email service they want to use: Hotmail, or Gmail.
There is a wealth of options for users to take advantage of, but the two most popular free-to-use services are battling for roughly 1.5 billion users worldwide.
If you have a Microsoft Hotmail account and you are looking to make the switch to Gmail, you can transfer your contacts across to make the transition easier.
If you are looking to make the switch from Hotmail to Google Gmail, you can exchange your contacts crosswise over to make the progress less demanding.
To do this, you will first need to log into your Gmail customer service Number and go to the Contacts section on the left-hand side of the toolbar.
Open options in the top right and then select Export Contacts.
You will be prompted to open or save the file – click save and store it on your computer where you can simply find it.
A .csv file with all your Hotmail contacts will now be saved on your system.
Once you have done this, log into your email account and click on the Contacts section on the left side.
Open Import and find the .csv file with all your Hotmail contacts to import.
This will bring all your Hotmail contacts over to your email account so you can start to send and receive messages with the new account.
If you are making the switch back the other way – from Gmail to Hotmail – the process is more the same but in reverse.
How to create a Hotmail or Outlook account
To create a Hotmail or Outlook account you have to sign up a Microsoft account. To do this, go to www.login.live.com and create a new account.
You will want to input some personal info before you can complete this process. You have to fill in your name, date of birth, location, and username.
Once these steps are complete, you will be needed to test your login with your new username and password. Once done, you can begin including contacts and using the email services.
